Annabel vs. Annabelle

Me and my husband both love this name but while I want Annabel, he prefers Annabelle. I wondered what the general opinion of the name and the better spelling is - please do comment! We’re also completely stuck for middle names. I like Annabel Thea but it still doesn’t wow me. I beg you to comment! Thanks, Alice xxxx

Both spellings are ok. Personally, I would choose Annabel, same as I would choose Isabel. To me, the -elle ending means that the last syllable of the name is stressed, like it is in French. So it would depend on where you want the stress. If it’s AN-ah-bel then Annabel and if it’s an-ah-BEl, then Annabelle.

I voted fo Annabelle. While a legitimate spelling, Annabel just looks incomplete to me.

Annabelle looks strange to me. I prefer Annabel. Annabel seems to have a more complete look.
