Ali vs. Ally vs. Alli
I have decided to name my daughter Alice. I love it. It’s exactly what I was looking for. Not to popular, but easy to spell. I have also decided to give her the nickname Ali/Ally/Alli because I love it as a nickname and this way she can choose what to go by when she’s older according to her personality. I am leaning towards Ali because it consists of the first three letters in her name, but I am unsure. Does Ali look more incomplete than the other two? Please tell me which is your favorite AND WHY. Her first name is not changing. I will be doing a separate poll asking for help on middle names later. Thank you.

I wouldn’t go with Ali. When reading it, my first assumption is that it’s the male Muslim name. AH-lee rather than Al-ee.

Is Allie an option? If not, I like Alli or Ali best. Ally looks like ally as in my "ally" not my "enemy" or Ally Bank. I think Ali is cute and short and modern-looking.

Allie would get my vote, too. But if you don’t like that, I think Ally is nicest. Mostly because Ali looks like Mohammad Ali.

I’d go with Ali. My name is Allyson nn Ally, and people spell it wrong CONSTANTLY. Ali is the variation I get most often, so I feel like it’s the variation that will likely cause her the fewest headaches. Good luck!
