Mattie vs. Matti vs. Matty

I am not having a baby, but my sister and I have been calling my nephew, Matthew, MATT-EE, lately. I actually like this nickname for a boy, but I just need to know how you would spell it? I like the spelling Mattie for a girl, but I think Matty is more masculine. Please comment!

Matty. But i think it’s more of a nn for when he’s little, and by the time he’s in second grade he should go my Matt or Matthew, at school and with friends anyway.

My friends in my theatre class call Matt Matte too. I think they would spell it Matte, or Mattey.
