Riley vs. Ryley
Boy name ? My husband and I love the name & understand it’s a boy name that’s taken by a lot of girls but we’ve only met boys with this name. We both like the Ryley spelling better since I’ve never seen this spelling and it’s less common. Girls are taking every name! I recently met a little girl named James when will they stop ? Lol

Riley and Reilly are the acceptable spellings of the name, anything else is just wrong, uncommon means nothing to a lifetime of daily corrections

I love the name on a boy but only if spelled either Riley or Reilly.
I wouldn’t use any of the "ry" spellings like Ryley,Rylie or Rylee etc. because I think it’s the same situation as names like Jordyn instead of Jordan or Camryn instead of Cameron people will definitely assume girl if they see one of those spellings.

Riley. My brother’s best friend’s name is Riley(boy). I’ve only ever met 2 female Rileys. Ryley looks clunky with 2 y’s and could be considered a "girlier" spelling by many since it is mostly in girls names that the i’s are replaced by y’s to make a name more "unique"(or harder to live with imo). Boy names are always still boys names to me no matter how popular they become on girls. My favorite boys names are Harper, Kendall, and Bellamy all of which get used for girls quite often. Name your son what you want regardless of its gender popularity. The only names I would now say have completely switched sides are names like Ashley and Kelly.

Please spell it Riley. Ryley looks feminine.

These other posters are wrong. Ryley is NOT a made up spelling. However, with that being said, I too prefer Riley - but Ryley is definitely a legit spelling as well.
