Names With vs. Lor/Laur For vs. Boy and Girl

I am having my first child. Unfortunately, the father will not be in the baby’s life. Instead, a wonderful woman, who has been like a mother to me, has taken me under her wing. I feel that the LEAST I could do was name my baby in honor of her. I am not finding out the gender, so I need names for both. Her name is Lorie, so please suggest names that can honor her. I have no start and I’m not sure of my naming preferences yet. It can honor her in either the first or middle name. Thank you. It is very appreciated, Jessa.

I like Laurence for a girl, Loretta, Lorelie, and for a boy I love Lorenzo, Lawson, Lorcan.

Also, I have found the name Lorena for a baby girl. I really like that. Thoughts? Also, first and middle combinations would be appreciated. Thanks!

From the names suggested, I like Loren, Lorelei, Lorelie, and Loretta for girls. For boys, I like Lawson. Thanks!

Lorenzo/Laurence would be great for a boy! I really like Lorelei and Laurel for girls too! I’m less keen on Lorena I’m afraid.
