Ayslin vs. Aaislyn vs. Aislin

The three suggestions we revived about how to spell "A’s-lynn". We love the spelling Aislyn but apparently that’s actually Ashlynn(though I don’t understand why)

I very well could get hate for this but I believe that you should spell it the way you love, Aislyn. Apparently in Ireland it’s pronounced Ashlynn but here in the U.S(where I’m from) I think most people wouldn’t pronounce it that way since here it’s usually spelt Ashlynn and I think Aislyn just looks cleaner then the options you have.

Out of the 3 I like Aislin the best but I agree with the above poster about the pronunciation.

I actually kind of agree with poster #1. Personally, I would probably pronounce Aislyn as Ashlyn. I do live in the US, but I’m familiar with the name and I know the authentic, traditional pronunciation. Having said that, none of the other spellings look right and this is the one you love. A lot of people will pronounce it your way and the rest will learn to do so. I would.

What about Acelyn? Not exactly the same pronunciation, but similar

Defiantly Aislyn. I have a niece named Aislyn(7) and it’s pronounced the way you want to pronounce it and she rarely has to correct people and those that she does learn right away how she pronounces it.

My first choice would be Aislyn and the secon would be Aislin, the other two just look like a jumble of letters to me.

You could also spell it Aislinn, there is a Canadian actress with this spelling.

Aislin/Aislinn/Aislyn is Irish which is why it’s pronounced differently. I live in the U.S. and know one girl named Aislin (pronounced Ash-lyn) and she actually hasn’t had much trouble with people pronouncing her name wrong so more people know the correct pronunciation than you think. I would go with Ayslin based on the pronunciation you are wanting.
