Brin vs. Bryn vs. Brynn

Brinley won our last poll by a landslide. Based upon the comments, Ash and I have agreed on Brinley for our little girl. Step two is picking how to spell her nickname. "Brinley" is the spelling we plan on sticking with as we have yet to see an alternative spelling we like. Please tell use how you think we should spell her nickname. ~Andie and Ash

If you’re in the US, Brynn. If you’re in the UK, probably Brin.

My 11 year old daughter is named Brynlee and often goes by Bryn, which is why I chose the spelling Brynlee. However I wish now I would have spelled it Brenley with the nn Bren. I think it’s more unique and Brinley is the most common spelling I’ve seen. You can still spell Bryn from Brinley and I would not go with Brin. GL

Brynleigh is cute but long and some people don’t like Leigh spellings. I like the Bryn spelling but Brinley is probably your best bet.

All in all, I would use Brinley with the nn Bryn unless you like the Brynleigh spelling.

We are two of those people who dislike the leigh spelling of names. Does the double Y in Brynley look odd to anyone else?

Yes, too many Y’s looks odd. It’s one of those trendy things that more popular today.
