The Only Andre I know is Hispanic. Him and his family are not ghetto! LOL. You’ll be fine! Andre is a sweet name! Good luck, I wish you the best!

To be honest I do not think it’s a good name if you’re wanting to avoid the stereotype. Andrew would be lovely.

Personally, I think it’s fine, but if you are worried, maybe it’s best to choose a different name.

Actually, the Andre’s I know are all Russian/East European, so I don’t consider it a "black" name and I don’t think anyone when looking at a resume would categorize or stereotype him.

And pp, many "black" names are actually Greek, French or some other European background, for example Keisha and Letitia.

If you stick a De or Le in from of the name, then yeah, I guess I would think of it as such. But just Andre? No.

I think it’s a great name. Only Andre I ever knew was not black. And then there’s Andre Agassi...

Andreas or Andrew would be good alternatives for a first name. You could still call him Andre as a nickname.

I think its an awesome name! The name is also from Hebrew (without the French accent). It means strong, manly, warrior, courageous. At every time of day, the name is always up to you. When it comes to baby, one question: does it fit?
