Well it’s a boy name but like 90% of boys names these days someone decides to use it for a girl.

I can’t really talk because I have a daughter named Esra but ina way it’s unrelated to the Biblical Ezra because my Esra’s name is Turkish.

Ezra is a total, complete and utter boys name, have never actually heard anyone use it on a girl, nor should they - ever

Ezra is a masculine name from the Bible. 100% boy name. Feel free to use it for your son.

It was 119th for boys in 2014 and not even ranked for girls. It’s not unisex, it’s male. The people who’ve named their daughters Ezra are just trying to be edgy.

I accept that Esra is a different name.

TOTALLY boy name. All the way

Ezra is 100% male. I don’t know where parents of little girls are getting that idea, other than confusing it with Esmée perhaps.

Ezra Bartholomew
Ezra Malcolm
Ezra Hugo
Ezra Daniel
Ezra Julian
Ezra Felix
Ezra Gabriel
Ezra Victor
Ezra Morgan
Ezra Tobias
Ezra George
Ezra Levi
Ezra Cormac
Ezra Jacob
Ezra Theodore
Ezra Lucas
Ezra Jordan
Ezra Matthew

I am aware that Morgan and Jordan are unisex / used for girls too. But I still think the combinations sound masculine. Good luck! :0)

I’ve never heard it on a girl.

I would be so disappointed if I heard it used for a girl. It’s a traditionally masculine name, like Adam, Joshua, Thomas, and David.

Ezra is clearly a boy’s name. Just because it ends with an A doesn’t mean that people can suddenly call it unisex. (As you can see, I’m not a fan of most unisex names.)

I say either. If you like the name use it. Names aren’t genderized. We genderized names.

This is so not a girl name. Go ahead!

I never knew Ezra was a boy name. I always thought it was a girl name! And I always said to myself if I have a girl I will name her Ezra because I love it so much. I didn't think it was "edgy"because I never knew it was supposed to be for a boy. Because really I have never heard of the name other than the 90s alternative band Better Than Ezra. And I always thought it was a girls name.
