Felix is awful for a girl

No, not a girls name. Felix is all boy. Not even a pretty name.

I normally find giving boy’s names to girls really dumb but Felix is literally the word for ’’happy’’ so I don’t think most people would make that big of a deal once that’s already her name so don’t get discouraged or you could settle for Felix as a middle name and call her that all the time anyway, good luck, I know people with Felix as a last name too.

Try Felicity, Felice, Felicia or even Felixa before you use Felix on a girl.

No matter how cute the kid is, Felix is not a good name for a girl. I’d feel sorry for the poor kid.

Felix Catherine "pure happiness"

No, go with a female form of Felix. Felicity or Felicia are great. A name doesn’t have to be masculine to be spunky and strong.

FELIX
GENDER: Masculine
USAGE: German, Dutch, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, English, Romanian, Ancient Roman, Biblical, Biblical Latin
PRONOUNCED: FE-liks (German), FAY-liks (Dutch), FEE-liks (English)
Meaning & History: From a Roman cognomen meaning "lucky, successful" in Latin. It was acquired as an agnomen, or nickname, by the 1st-century BC Roman general Sulla. It also appears in the New Testament belonging to the governor of Judea who imprisoned Saint Paul. Due to its favorable meaning, this name was popular among early Christians, being borne by many early saints and four popes. It has been used in England since the Middle Ages, though it has been more popular in continental Europe. A notable bearer was the German composer Felix Mendelssohn (1809-1847).

Felix for a boy is already unattractive. I would NEVER settle for that on a girl when its FEMININE form Felicity is beautiful as it is. Next we’re gonna be naming girls Benjamin...
posted by guest :: 9 years ago | report
In 2014, there were 17 baby girls named Benjamin. Lol. Just another example of this absurdity. Someday people are going to figure out that girls are just as good as boys and don’t have to have male names to make them more awesome.

Felix is definitely a male name, this could lead to teasing from other kids. The name Felix is also associated with a cat from a TV advert and a male character who is the sense of touch on a children’s TV show.

I can’t believe that someone would name a girl Felix. It doesn’t look or sound nice. It’s hard enough for a boy.

Would assume anyone using Felix for a girl had been still under the influence of the anesthetic used at birth, its a dopey thing to do. there are thousands of cute/beautiful/spunky girls names across hundreds of cultures, don’t be just another bnog fad slave

Love Felix for a girl - reminds me of Alex.
Some ideas:
Felix Jane
Felix Faye
Felix Rose

Also, worth noting that in the original Latin, Felix is the same in masc, fem, and neutral form :) Just a word meaning lucky traditionally adopted by people in powerful positions - which historically have been men (popes, generals etc). So I wouldn't worry about the "Felix is a boy's name" argument :)
