Ilaria vs. Alaria vs. Elaria
What do you think of the name Ilaria? I just came across it -- it’s Italian and I think it’s really pretty. But I’m wondering if it looks better (or more Americanized) with a different first letter. WDYT? Too different?

I like the traditional spelling. the A or E spellings look like car models- the Hyundai Elara, I think.

I like Alaria but I think it would be prettier if it was spelled Allarya. Just my opinion though

My granddaughter ’s name is Alaria and she gets many compliments for how pretty it sounds. My son is very musical and he made it up . Now we find out that a few others have the same name.

Actually, my name IS Alaria; to the ear it sounds nearly identical to the other two
(Ah-lar-EE-ah). I am often complemented on it, but more often than not it (in New England anyway) is mispronounced as Uh-lair-EE-uh, which is kinda annoying.

We called my daughter Elaria. We are always complimented on the name. Making it hard to find something to call her sister...

My daughter's name is Ellaria. I showed people the traditional spelling and no one knew how to pronounce it, so didn't want her to deal with that. Ellaria also happens to be the spelling of a Game of Thrones character, so, IMO, win/win. Plus, she can go by Ella, Aria or Ria for short.

Alaria is a scientific name for a worm in the intestines of dog and cats. Good to avoid it as kids now a days find some way or the other to tease other kids :)
