Nicknames vs. for vs. Felicia
My daughter Felicia was just born. We have a neighbor that keeps telling us to find a nickname because people might bully her and say Bye Felicia! ( and other things ) I did want a nickname anyways, so does anybody have a few options?

I’ve always loved Lee on a girl, although it has a very different feeling than delicate Felicia.
By the way, what is the significance of "Bye Felicia!" Whatever it is, will it still be in people’s minds when your baby gets older? Just wondering. Good luck! :0)

OK. I just googled it (Bye Felicia). I still don’t think it’s that much to worry about. Pop culture memes come and go.
I had to look that up too. Never heard it before.

I think Felicia is fine by itself. I don’t even know what "Bye Felicia" is referencing and I’m sure a lot of other people don’t either. By the time your daughter is old enough, the kids will be on to something else.

I know people who still say "Bye Felicia" quite often. Any adult who has seen "Friday" from 1995 knkws the saying and why people say it. Heck, my 15 year old niece’s name is Felicity, not even Felicia, and people say "Bye Felicia" to her a lot. I think Fee or Leigh or Liss would be great nicknames for Felicia.

I never heard "Bye Felicia" and don’t know why it would be a bad thing. I assume you chose the name because you like the name Felicia. I think Felicia is fine, though I prefer Alicia. Not sure about using Alicia and a nickname for Felicia though- they’re the same length and it might be confusing.

My daughter is also Felicia! We've been toying with the idea of Elle/Ellie or Li. A couple people we know have started calling her Fi. We are not too worried about figuring out a nickname. Kinda just figured one would happen :)

I was born in 85. My name is spelled Felicia, but my parents pronounce in Fa-LISH-A. I have no idea why they spelled it that way? Anyway, people "Bye Felicia!" Me all the time. Like the PSO customer service agent did it to me once. I've always hated my name because no one says it right (besides family/very close friends). Now my sister is having my first niece and I'm looking for a cute Aunt nickname. My daughter calls her Aunt B (Bradi), and I think Aunt Felicia sucks.

I used to use Fefe in grade school, but now I think Fi, Lia, or Licia sounds better.
