skylar rose vs. skyla rose

I love everything about the name Skylar from its meaning to its ring and I am 7 months pregnant with my baby girl. I would love to name her Skylar Rose, but lots of my family and friends think it’s more of a boy name. I want a name that is completely feminine. Should I still go with Skylar or choose a more feminine variation such as Skyla?

I love the name Skylar! I’ve always wanted to use it, but I keep popping out boys! Go with Skylar, you can call her Sky, Skyla, or Skylinn!

I’m a teacher, youth mentor for my mega church and well as I do pageants with my girls so I come across many kids on a daily basis. And no lie I have seen about 5-10 Skylar Rose’s born or in my class or heard about in the last 5 years. That’s a lot in my opinion considering I don’t live in very big city. Even on this site whenever Skylar pops up so does Rose.
I like Skyar but it seems Rose is the most common middle name for it.
Keep Skylar go with a different middle name.

in my opinion its a great name for either gender. I had a very boy boy skylar jacob in a former classroom rough and tough with an attitude and i have a dear childhood friend who named her daughter skyler elise and also has an older daughter named sawyer christine. although I am not a fan of all these newer unisex names such as harper, and presley on girls, i do think skyler is a great name for either gender. I might add i wanted to use adrian or adrienn for my own, but my husband didnt care for either, Had he my choice was adrian edward or adrienn elyse.

if skylar doesnt seem to enthuse many as long as youre concerned ive heard the name skylie like kylie with an s and that might sound a bit more feminine.

Until somewhat recently, Skylar was a boy’s name, but I love it so much that I don’t even mind hearing it on a girl. And I think Skylar Rose is beautiful. Yes, it’s common right now, but if you think 10 years from now you would regret now having used it, go for it. Another option that is also quite pretty is Skylar Renee. Others: Skylar Elaine, Skylar Nicole, Skylar Jade, Skylar Celeste, Skylar Iris, Skylar Diane, Skylar Miranda

I named my now 2 year old daughter Skylar-Rose. That is her first name and everyone we meet raves about how pretty it is. And we never let anyone call her Sky. It's Skylar-Rose ❣️
