Is Winnie vs. ok as a vs. full name?

I just can’t find a full name I like. I want to call her Winnie. I don’t like Winifred, Winona, Bronwyn, Rowen, Elowen, Winter, or anything I’ve seen. (I like the name I mean, but don’t want to use them.) Is it alright as a full name? The only one I kinda like the sound of was "Winibelle," but I can’t think of how to spell that... Do you have any other suggestions? Or is it ok to have Winnie as a full name?

I think it’s lovely as a full name!

I dislike it on it’s own, but cute for a nickname. What about Gwendolyn?

I personally dislike it as a full name or a nn. I would say if you love it then it is fine as a full name as I am all for names like Milly/Millie, for example, as full names. But my one concern would be the whole "Winnie the Pooh" thing.

Wilhelmina could work and is such an incredibly beautiful name!! Hauntingly beautiful really.

Poster above, Wilhelmina is really pretty.

I don’t see the difference. If the name is good enough for the kid to be called that by their teachers in high school... it’s good enough as a full name. Winnie is perfectly fine. I don’t get why it would make a difference.

I don’t like it as a stand alone full name, sorry. It’s just too juvenile and I feel it would be too childish on a mature adult.

Too juvenile and childish. All I can think of is Winnie the pooh. I don’t like it as a nickname or a full name. Seems like something you’d name a pet.

It’s a nickname... Gwendolyn is a common name shortened to Winnie.

Aslo a f/m combo of a W and N name could call for Winnie as a nn:

Willow Nala
Willa Noelle
Wisteria Naomi
Wisteria Nala
Willow Nadia

I think nn’s all generally work as full names. I don’t see the difference between Winnie and names like Chris, Ben, Katie, Kate, Jake, etc.
Also, I think Winnie from The Wonder Years full name was Winnie, and now I just got all nostalgic for old school nick at night! Aww.

That being said, I LOVE Wilhelmina and Guinevere!! I recently learned that one of the meanings of Guinevere is "magical creature" which is awesome, thought I’d throw that in there.

GL!
