Boy !
I don’t care for Erin

Both. The name Aaron and Erin have no etymological connection besides sound. I personally find Aaron for a boy a little more timeless than Erin for a girl. But I think both are great names.

Aaron for a boy, Erin for a girl. I’m the UK these are pronounced differently though, so I’m not sure how helpful my opinion is.

Erin-Lilly = Air-in

Lol sorry my phone changed Erin to Erin-Lilly as it’s my daughters name

I’m from the UK, Aaron is Ah-run and Erin is Eh-rin. With an American accent these sound the same but they’re completely different. Aaron is for boys and means "high mountain" and Erin is for girls meaning "from the island to the west" - they’re both lovely!

Aaron for blue, Erin for girls

Ugh gotta love autocorrect! Haha Aaron for boys (not blue), Erin for girls

They’re completely different names from different origins. Aaron for a boy is from the Bible (I love it) and Erin for a girl is a Anglicized version of Ireland or Eireann (it’s ok). There’s no distinction for me as per pronunciation but then I’m not from the UK.

Tell your mother that she is incorrect.

The names are not the same. Aaron was a famous male figure in the Bible and Erin is a name used for the country of Ireland.

Aaron came first then Erin. I prefer it on boys.

Aaron is a person in the Bible that is a boy so I would only use it for a boy. Erin is a variation of Aaron made so girls can use it. Both are fine names but if you start giving girls the name Aaron and boys the name Erin, then everybody gets thrown off and confused. I’d say just stick to that.

Two entirely different names. They are pronounced similarly, but not the same. Different meanings and origins. I like them both equally.

Sorry but mothers are NOT always right. Your mother is wrong in this case.

Aaron and Erin are not the same name. The male Aaron is Hebrew and he was the brother of Moses and a High Priest in the Bible.

Erin is derived from a poetic name for Ireland (Eireann). Not many people in Ireland use this name. It’s chosen mainly by parents outside of the country who want to give a nod to their Irish heritage.

I Would rather choose Aaron for a boy than Erin for a girl because Aaron has a solid history.

Aaron for a boy, Erin for a girl. They have quite different origins and meanings. Aaron means "lofty, exalted" while Erin means "peace". I love both names. When we were trying to name our #3 and #4 sons, I suggested Aaron and my husband asked how I meant to spell it. When I told him "A-a-r-o-n," he said, "That’s pronounced Ar-uhn." Hubby is from New Jersey, so to him Aaron/Erin are two distinct pronunciations. I didn’t like his pronunciation, so we didn’t choose that name. :)
