Joel is a nice strong name. It works well for a boy as well as a man. And it is very under-used. I wouldn’t use the nickname Joe though. Joel is only one syllable and doesn’t need shortening. Good luck!

Joel is a great name! I personally prefer Joseph, but you can’t go wrong with these choices.

If you really want to call him Joe go with Joesph cause that is a name that you usually shorten to Joe..if you don’t mind not calling him Joe go with Joel I don’t think Joel should be shortened to Joe..Joel is such a good name on its own no need to shorten it..Joseph is a good name for when you are little and Joe as you get older where Joel works at any age..GL

I think Joel is a strong name and it can be nacknamed Joey for a little boy which is adorable!
