Wrennyn vs. Boy vs. Girl
We found this name on a baby names site and it was listed as a boys name but we think it could work for a girl as well. What do you think, does it make a better boy or girl name? Thanks! ~Sam

It reminds me of the stomach enzyme, Rennin. 🙁 It curdles milk and is used in cheese-making.

I don't think it's good for either gender at all. It's unflattering and tacky, and honestly an eye sore to look at.

Poster one, I've never heard of that enzyme before. We'll consider that. Thanks!

I just don't like it in general. Maybe you'd like Bronwyn?

Wow Bridget, what do you really think?! FYI, the OP was asking whether you liked it for a boy or girl best not for your opinions on the name.
I think it works best for a girl with the nn Wren. GL

Yeah the stomach enzyme thing throws me off, it's pretty gross actually. But even without the enzyme Wrennyn is still not good. Maybe for a pet that was named after a 3 year old but not a human child that will have to deal with the name Their whole life.

Neither. I prefer Wren for a girl. I guess Ren for a boy, but only as a nickname.

Yes they asked for which everyone thought the name was best for. I stated that "I don't think it's good for either gender at all" so technically I answered the question. Just not with either answer they wanted to hear. If you don't want opinions, don't post here. I am free to post my opinion just like you're free to criticize me for it.

Bridget what your mother didn't obviously teach you is how to say something with tact. You could have said, I'm not a fan of the name myself and moved on or suggested other ideas but what you said was just flat out rude.

The spelling is atrocious, but the name could be used for either gender I think. Rennon would be nice for a boy, and Rennin/Rennyn for a girl? I don't even mind Wrennon so much, but the W and the Y don't look good to me.

If what Bridget said really offends you that much then ignore it. There are much worse things she could have said. It's not like she said "It's an awful name that would be like child abuse to use, your child will hate you, you're an awful parent if you name your kid that, etc." at least she was somewhat polite about it. Unflattering and tacky aren't the most horrible things to say about something. There are nicers things to say than "an eye sore to look at" but in all honesty, it really isn't very appealing to look at. And the whole stomach enzyme resemblance is a little weird. Pretty much any science class that teaches about the human body will tell you about stomach enzymes these days.

I also do not like the spelling. Took me a second to grasp when I first saw it

I think the name is confusing. So many n's plus the Wr beginning and y towards the end. None of those things are bad individually but altogether it's just a little tough to figure out at a quick glance. You have Lennon for either so why non Wrennyn I suppose? With the y spelling, I'd say it looks more girl but by the sound it doesn't seem only-girl. There's the similar Brennan which I've seen for a boy. (I think Brennan is an Irish surname but I'm not entirely certain.)
Wrennyn looks girl (maybe b/c of the similarity to Wren) but with other spellings I could easily see it as a boy name. (Of course if Rennin is a stomach enzyme you might want to avoid that spelling, even if it's more phonetic.)

I'd say it's made up and done with creative spelling and I don't like it for a boy or girl.
