How would you vs. pronouce vs. Aislyn?
My husband and I came across the name Aislyn recently and we pronounced it as eyes-lyn but we wanted to see if others would pronounce it the same. It's an Irish girls name and my husband and I are both part Irish and have Irish names as well. Thanks! ~Sean & Riley

I had a classmate named Aislinn and for months I thought it was Iceland. She got vehemently upset if someone said Iceland instead of "Ashlyn".

It's definitely pronounced ash-lin. I mean, you could always use a mispronunciation, but since you specifically say that you like it because it's an Irish name, I wouldn't. Any Irish "connection" wouldn't exist if you didn't even pronounce it the way it's supposed to be...
If you want the pronunciation eyes-lin, I'd maybe try spelling it Eislyn or Eislinn.

I would pronounce Aislinn 'ash-lynn'. I would assume that Aislyn was a separate made up name, pronounced 'ace-lynn'.

That's "Ash-lynn" in terms of the Irish pronunciation. It's a variation on the name "Aisling" or "Aislin" which are pronounced "Ashlynn."
