Tegan vs. or vs. Teagan
Hello! We are a bit stuck on these two similar names, which both mean "fair" or "beautiful". Tegan is Welsh and the pronunciation we would use (there are 2 correct pronunciations) would be tay-gan. Teagan is Irish and pronounced tee-gan. We love both so we really need your help deciding! If you have the time, let us know in the comments why you picked the one you did. Thanks!

Both are lovely, but I think if you went with Tegan, people would still pronounce it tee-gan. So you may as well go with Teagan so that most people will say it right the first time :)

I've only ever met girls named Tegan/Teagan, pronounced Tee-gun/Tee-gehn. I prefer the Tegan spelling, but I usually prefer the most streamlined spelling that is acceptable.

Teagan is more handsome. I've never seen the meanings you mentioned though. Behind the name is the most reliable online source I have come across. You may want to check it out.

Actually you are in error, Tegan is Welsh and means fair (and is usually pronounced tee-gen), but Teagan, while Irish means descendant of the poet, its masculine, a diminutive of Teague. For a girl would go with Tegan

If you really wanted the tay-gen pronunciation then you could spell it Taygan/Taygen/Taegan that would get my vote.
