Girl names Like Lydia vs. Ideas please!

Lydia has been my favorite name for a girl (classic, mainstream yet not too popular, feminine, ages well, and not automatically shortened to a nickname). Our good friends named their daughter Lydia and so I'm looking for ideas on names that fit the bill for our baby girl on the way. Would love to find a name I love as much as Lydia! Any ideas welcomed!

Thanks for the quick suggestions already! The ones that are resonating with me are Lyla, Julianne, Lillian (from the Lily suggestion), Amelia, Juliet/Julia, Adeline. Thanks for giving me some great ideas to noodle on so far. I welcome any more too!

And Jillian and Natalie are catching my attention too, thank you! And Leah is nice, takes two syllables straight from Lydia. What about the spelling Lia? Or Lianna? Just reacting out loud over hear :)

I agree that you should really use the name Lydia for your daughter . They don't own it , and if you have love it for a long time , just bc they used it shouldn't stop you , you still have a right to use it . You will always wish you did! And your friends might not even be in your life forever . You never know what will happen . They could move away or you guys simply stop talking . Or you might move . Who knows . I say , use the name Lydia . It's a lovely name and I doubt you'll find a name you love as much .

I just read your previous comment , I named my daughter Lianna . It's a beautiful name . If you don't go with Lydia , Lianna is a great choice !

Thanks for all the suggestions! I'm really getting my head around some of these. Adding Clara, Emily, Annaliese, and Elena (from the Helena option) Isla, Alyssa, Maia (from Mila) Lianne is emerging as my favorite option so far!! It's a great endorsement Nikki :)

@J.J, "Alicia" is typically pronounced as Ah-Leesh-ah and would forever be mispronounced. If you were going for the alternate, I would recommend Alyssia or a variation of.
