I like Vivien/Vivienne better, but with Vivian being so popular, i don't see what difference it makes, they all sound the same.

a few years ago i had a 2 little girls called Ruby and one called Rubie in the class. when you called out the name, they all thought i was talking to them, and to anyone new Rubie always had to say "with an ie".

Vivian is English, Vivienne is French, Vivien is a made-up version trying to combine the two.

Spell check counts it as wrong.

Vivian is pronounced Viv-ee-in
Vivienne is Vee-Vee-en

If you live somewhere English I would use the English spelling. If you live somewhere French use the French spelling.
