Miel vs. Opinions
Hello all! We are expecting a baby girl, after years of trying and failing to conceive. It is very unlikely we will have another child, so we want her name to be something we truly love. Miel is currently top of our fave names. It is pronounced 'Myel' and means 'Honey' What do you think? Other names we like are: Leandra, Lee-ON-druh, means 'Lioness'. Aracely Aah-ruh-SELL-ee means 'Altar of Heaven' and Ximena Heh-MEN-uh, means 'Listener'. We might use one of these three as a middle for Miel depending on feedback. Thank you!

I think Miel is gorgeous. Love the sound and the meaning. Although, you might get some people saying "Me-el" (to be honest, I said that at first, but My-el makes more sense now). Miel Leandra would be darling.

The word Miel meaning honey in Spanish is pronounced like Meal. If you want to say the name that way then the spelling could be Myell, Myall or Mile perhaps.

Not big on Miel on as a full name, sorry. It feels more like a nickname for something like Melina (Greek, honey / sweet) or Mielikki (Finnish forest goddess). If not a nickname then I can only see it as a guilty pleasure middle name.
Love Leandra and Ximena. Like Aracely. Leandra Miel, Leandra Sophie? You might also like (for first or middle name):
Leontine -- ("LAY-un-teen") lion-like
Leonie -- ("LEE-uh-nee" or "LAY-uh-nee")
Dulcinea -- ("dul-si-NAY-uh") sweet one
Camellia -- plant / flower
Melia -- ("MAY-lee-uh") flowering ash tree, Greek mythology
Carmela -- garden
Xaviera -- ("hah-VYEHR-uh")
Melisande -- French Millicent, strong worker
Sunniva -- ("suh-NEEV-uh") gift of the sun
Good luck! :0)

Thank you everyone for your comments so far.
Carla- we know Miel is pronounced differently in Spanish, but we are Portugese and Argentinian so we are pronouncing it in more of an Argentinian way.
And thanks to FredaCat for some lovely suggestions

Ximena or Aracel(i)
I love Araceli spelled this way! I had a student named Araceli and thought it was the most beautiful name I'd ever heard! Is Aracely a Portuguese spelling? If not, I just think Araceli looks nicer visually. Good luck :)
