Is this for a child who will be the 3rd one with a certain name? Because that is where Trey should come from. I’ve never heard it as just a name by itself. Anytime I hear it, I think that it is a nn for someone who was named after their father and grandfather.

I love Tre and Trey, and have met boys with both spellings. Not a fan of Trae though, but only because I know a girl named Crae, and that’s all I think of when I see that spelling
