Micah vs. Mika vs. Mica

Hi, we have a nine month old baby who we named Micah pronounced Mick-a, like the famous racing car driver Mika Hakkinen. We didn’t use the spelling Mika because we liked how Micah looked. However knowing that Micah can be pronounced Mykah or Meeka as well we are considering changing the spelling of his name to possibly Mika or Mica or should we just leave it as people could still call him Mykah even if we chnaged it and spelt it Mika? We were wondering what other people think? Thanks!- Helen and Andrew

Don’t change it. Micah and Mica make me think of (my-ca) and Mika (me-ca). At least Micah looks masculine. Mica and Mika don’t.

I’m a girl, and my name is Mica.
Mica is also a mineral and is pronounced ’My-Kah’ so if you wanted it to be pronounced ’mick-ah’ you should definitely use a different spelling. In Sweden ’Myka’ is a common girls name, but its pronounced ’Mee-ka’

I was under the impression that, spelt ’Micah’ it is a boys name of biblical origin...
