which spelling vs. for Shelly?

I am going to name my daughter Shelly but, I don’t want to use that exact spelling I have been looking around and I came up with these options Shelley, Shellie, Shelli, Chelle, Chellie, chelley or Chellee. I really prefer the "ch" spellings especially Chelle but, I’m not sure if it would be mispronounced so I thought maybe it might be better to use one of the other "ch" spellings. Please let me know what you think and also if you could leave some middle name suggestions it would be really appreciated.

imo, if you use on of the "ch" spellings, it will be mispronounced often. especially chelle, because chelle is a common nn for michelle. i’d go with shelly or shelli.

I like Shelly the best then Shelley. The rest I don’t care for. The ch ones look like a totally different name.

no matter how you spell it, it’s just shelly. why have all the confusion? cute name, but go with an uncomplicated spelling. i agree with the first poster.

Ok, my name is Shelley, DO NOT spell it just Shelly. I am so glad my name is not spelled that way!! It looks like something is missing. However, I would’ve loved for my name to have been spelled Shellie. I knew a girl in HS with that spelling and was always a bit jealous. I don’t care for the Ch spellings. Such cofusion all the time. I always have to say "That’s with an E-Y." So your daughter would have to spell her entire name ALL the time. Anyway, I love my name, I think it’s a great choice. There aren’t too many of us out there!

i would use a spelling with an S. otherwise i think it will be mispronounced alot.

what about the first name michelle and call her shelly. Seems more mature and the name could grow up with her if she wanted something more mature later

I love the spelling Shelly it just does not go well if you use the ch spelling :)

Hey there! My name is Michelle, and I love it when people use the name Shellie on me. I think Shellie is more feminine, as for a middle name Anne is really nice. Shellie Anne, it goes really nice!!!
