It's not my type of name for a boy or a girl. I see nothing wrong with using it for a boy though. I've seen various spellings of it. Maybe try one that doesn't begin with (girl's name) Leigh at the beginning. Maybe Leyton?

I think the sound of the name works for both genders, but Leighton seems more of a feminine spelling. Layton would be a more masculine spelling IMO.

I like Layton only for a boy. I know of one. I did know of a girl Leighton but she only went by Leah.

Well considering I'm the one that had the post for Leighton spelling for a girl a boy is spelled LAYTON. And no it's not bad for a boy. Just don't like being copied…

Yes, it's a boy name. Though the spelling Layton is much better in my opinion. You can get a similar sound with the name Clayton.
