Clarence is male. Florence is female.

Alternatives: Clemence or Carys for a girl, and Lawrence, Felix or Phineas for a boy. Good luck! :0)

Clarence = boy. Clare can be male or female. Claire = girl.

Florence = girl. Lawrence = boy. Florian = boy.

Florence used to be used for boys too. Laurence is also feminine some places in the world. Clarence I've only heard for males but who knows. It's not a bad name. I like Clifford more. Florence is a nice name, she could also be called Flora which is pretty.

Clarence is technically male, but I can see how it comes across as feminine (Clare, Florence, Clementine etc)

Florence is female, and while it does have male alternative (Florentine etc), I honestly couldnt imagine using them on a boy these days.

Yeah, I know thay Clarence is masculine, but, I'm not gonna lie, it sounds so feminine to me and so does Clar/Clare.
Can't imagine Florence on a guy (agree), and I definitely can imagine Clarence on a girl. Imo.

Clarice is cute, so is Clarence
Sometimes my brain plays funny tricks on me: I was thinking about Clare and Florence and suddenly my mind told me, that Clarence sounds so elegant, better than Florence and Claire.

I've never heard about Clarence Thomas.
