Ivy vs. Long version

Hi! We are adopting 3 littles that have long (3-4 syllable) names with short, cute nicknames. In the midst of that, we are also pregnant. We love the name Ivy but worry she'll feel left out with just a short name. Any longer make suggestions for a nn Ivy?

Ivory! I also think Iverson or Ivanka could work but I like Ivory the best.

I think Ivy is perfectly fine. It's not one syllable, so it isn't overly short, even though it's only 3 letters. Chances are, you'll use the nicknames more than the full names for your other 3, so it won't really make a difference. Trying to contrive a name never really ends well. Ivy is nice, so use Ivy!

Ivanka or Ivanna would be options. Or you could use the initials IV. IV is also the Roman numerals for 4. This would be cute because she would be your youngest out of 4. Some ideas if you like that suggestion: Isabella Victoria, Isabelle Valentina, Imogen Veronica, Indiana Valkyrie, Indigo Valerie, Isadora Vivienne.

I actually love the suggestion of IV initials and the names Indigo and Ivory. Thanks!

You could put a one syllable name behind it and make it a double barrel name. Or even add a short name to the end, like with Annabeth or Marianne.

Ivy Beth
Ivy Mae
Ivy Jane
Ivy Faye
Ivy Maeve

Personally Iva is one of my own favorites and I love Ivalie as a full name! Lots of good options for little Ivy

I appreciate your effort to blend the family, symbolized by the names. I have friends who adopted two, both with E names, then got pregnant. Of course they kept the E theme for their 3rd child.
I don't know that there's a real great option for Ivy to be a natural nickname for, but you could get creative. Or maybe you'll find a name you like just as much as Ivy. Good luck!

Isabel Victoria. Ivy. That is my favourite of the IV options, but some combo of IV names is likely the best way to get a longer version of Ivy.

Suggestion of Isabel Victoria is waaay too common. I like the suggestion of Ivory because it's uncommon but overall use Ivy chances are she isn't going to get feelings hurt over a name unless you make a big deal about it
