Carmen Isla vs. Cosima Ivy vs. Calista Imogen
Looking for C names — preferably hard C names – for our girl, sister to Christopher "Kit" Isaac (3yoM) & Catarina Iris (18mosF). Cosima = coSEEmah. Calista = cahLIStah. Imogen = IMohjen. Thanks so much! Middle names can be mixed and matched, suggestions are welcomed :) Please keep critique respectful! TY! ~ Cora

FredaCat - Good point! I think my approximations of the pronunciations of the names are off here, I'm in New Zealand. Your latter pronunciation of Cosima is closest to how I'd say it. My father is from Spain so Carmen Isla felt natural, but you are right that it makes one wonder if it's Spanish or not since Isla itself is becoming big outside of the Hispanosphere/Spanish-speaking communities with its own pronunciation (and I live in a mostly English speaking country).
I love Carmen Isolde the MOST! Also love Carlotta Imelda! Love Cecily but doesn't fit the unintentional "hard C" pronunciation restriction we've seemed to have put upon ourselves, haha. But I do love it! Thanks for your insight, so glad you like Calista Imogen! I really love that one too :)

Cosima is my favorite name here. But I've never heard that pronunciation before. "KAHZ-i-muh" or "KO-see-muh" are what I would expect. (I'm in the U.S., west coast, if that explains anything.)
I love Carmen but not with Isla. With a Spanish name like Carmen I'd wonder if Isla was also pronounced the Spanish way. That's not a big deal since middle names aren't used in daily life. It just helped me to make a decision on how to vote. Carmen Isolde ("ih-ZOLE-duh")? Cecily Imogen? Carlotta Imelda?
Good luck! :0)
