Jack vs. Jackson

My older sisters have honored our dad (Jack) in their oldest kids' names and I would like to do the same but I'm stuck between Jack and Jackson. I'm his only son and Jackson actually means "Jacks son" so I like that but our last name end in "son" as well. My oldest sister's daughter has the middle name Jacqueline and my older sister named her son Jack. Which one should my wife and I use for his middle name? His first name is going to be Westley but we're calling him Wes or West.

I feel like Jack would sound a bit better but since you have a nephew named Jack I think you should go with Jackson and then they would have different names but all honoring the same person which is sweet.

I think you should use Jack, because Jackson will not sound good with a last name also ending in -son. Westley Jack is great.

Son does not work with a son last name. For example a family name for me is Larson. Jackson Larson does not sound very good. Jack Larson sounds great.

I think for a middle name, Jack is perfect, especially since your last name ends in -son. (Westley is also a very cool name btw.)

Could you use John instead of Jack? Or what about Jax? Even Jacques?
